Richmond Associates History
Prior to his founding Richmond Associates in 1987, Mr. Donald Richmond managed a large multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering, and planning firm from 1976 - 1986. His architectural design experience includes schools, college facilities, municipal buildings and a National Guard Armory. Don Richmond completed the final architectural phase of Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado, a $75 million dollar, 10 year project.

The firm of Richmond Associates has been practicing architecture in Colorado and the Mountain West Areas since 1987, and has significant experience in design of residential, commercial and renovation construction. Mr. Richmond and his associates all have in depth experience and knowledge of advanced architectural CAD technologies.

Energy efficient and sustainable architecture is one of our areas of expertise. Don Richmond was responsible for the design and construction of a model home project sponsored by the NAHB Research Center, City of Fort Collins Light and Power, City of Fort Collins Water and Waste Water, the Colorado Governor's office of Energy Conservation and the Home Builders Association of Northern Colorado. This project was called the Fort Collins Smart House. The home's primary puropse was to introduce one of the first homes completed under the Colorado Green Built Program. The home also featured new wiring and communication technology. The Chalet series of designs, for entry level mountain-style homes, was a result of many of the design, materials and products used under the Colorado Green Program.
